Located in the Village of Oak Creek, Drewbies (the nickname of chef/owner Drew Ziraldo) is a casual joint that has won over fans since it opened its doors in late 2024. The restaurant serves tasty cuisine and is reasonably priced to boot. If you’re a vegetarian or a vegan, you’ll likely find something you’ll love on the menu here. When you’re in Drewbies, be sure to look up at the ceiling above the counter. It’s a colorful mosaic creation that’s refreshing since so much modern design is all neutrals. The turquoise walls of the counter are another welcome sight. When the weather’s good, we love sitting outside and admiring the view of Courthouse Butte. You’ll spot many hikers who have likely just gotten off the trail here.
The menu is packed with plenty of palate-pleasing options. It includes offerings like sandwiches, salads, wraps, tacos, burritos, sides and salads. In the mornings, we love sinking our teeth into a decadent Egg Burrito. Scrambled eggs are mixed with diced potatoes, red onions and melted cheese. The burrito is hearty, and what we crave when we’re looking for a filling meal. When we’re here for lunch, we’d always opt for one of the sandwiches. The most mentioned sandwich online is The Drewben, which features corned beef, tangy house sauerkraut and Swiss cheese that’s served on savory rye bread. We must mention the abundance of vegan options. Every menu item can be made vegan or vegetarian. We’re fans of the Tenacious C(hicken). The plant-based fried chicken or mycelium is made with apple, arugula and hot agave mustard on organic local sourdough bread. What did we love the most about the hearty and savory sandwich? The sweet yet spicy hot agave mustard, which elevated the dish from good to great.
For sides, we’d always order the fresh guacamole and the double fried chips. They’re always delicious. The Carne Asada Nachos are perfect for sharing. The fresh chips are accompanied by homemade cheese sauce, carne asada, pickled jalapenos, cilantro and onion.
