Enchantment Resort’s Che Ah Chi has long been one of our favorite dining destinations. Being in the shadow of Boynton Canyon’s red rocks while noshing on incredible food and drinks is worth savoring. During the holiday season, the experience is made all the more magical due to Enchantment’s ice rink that’s open daily from 3 to 7 p.m. daily from now until Jan. 4, 2025. Diners are welcome to skate after dining for a truly memorable winter evening. Reservations are required for the non hotel guests. Che Ah Chi focuses on American cuisine made with Arizona ingredients. Che Ah Chi’s morning fare is excellent. We’re big fans of the hearty Breakfast Sandwich, which is emblematic of that approach. Sink your teeth into scrambled eggs topped with prickly pear roasted jalapeno jam, white cheddar and bacon sandwiched in between a flaky butter croissant. The jam adds true Southwestern flair to the dish.
The lunch menu features a mix of healthy and indulgent items. When we want a healthier option, we’ll order for the Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower. For a more indulgent option, we’re big fans of the Sedona Burger made with a tasty wagyu beef patty and topped with white cheddar, peppercorn aioli and fire roasted Nopales relish for a spicy kick.
Dinner at Che Ah Chi is always a good idea. The salads are all excellent. The Kale Salad is made with black kale, watercress, whipped purple haze goat cheese, manuka honey crumbles and tossed in tangy Meyer lemon and honey vinaigrette that adds a nice zing. The Roasted Lamb Lion and Prime Rated New York Strip are both fantastic entrees. We’ve also never had a dessert here we didn’t like. The Planetary Alignment is artfully plated and features a chocolate flourless torte served with toasted sesame mousse, pomegranate reduction and black sesame tuile that adds a nice savory kick to this. The suggested wine pairing from the award-winning wine list is the Banyuls “Reserva” Domaine La Tour Vielle, a delightful red. Whether you skate or not, be sure to take in the sight of the skaters underneath the red rocks. It’s pure holiday magic. − A Sedona Foodie
