The Spot at Seven Canyons Golf Club

The Spot

Dinner with a view takes on a whole new meaning at a place as stunning as The Spot at Seven Canyons Golf Club. The red rock vistas are breathtaking. We’d recommend visiting about an hour before sunset so you can watch the sun dip behind the red rocks and see them illuminated as the sky slowly darkens all around you. The Spot’s spacious patio is one wide open space that makes good use of the vistas. We’re pretty sure there isn’t a bad view anywhere at this restaurant. Inside, you’ll find high ceilings, expansive windows and an overall charming, warm atmosphere.

The menu features approachable plates that would be perfect for anyone who’s spent the day hitting the links. Enjoy sliders, burgers, soups, salads, nachos and tacos. Our server recommended we start with the Split Avocado Salad, and we’re glad he did. This salad was a colorful, texture-rich dish featuring sliced avocado, topped with crunchy jicama, heirloom tomatoes and basil oil all served on a bed of spinach and drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette that was unbelievably fresh.

Next, we had the Fish Tacos from the Favorites menu. Any fish taco fan knows that what makes a fish taco good is the slaw – and the slaw on these tacos was great: crispy with a dash of sharpness from the diced red onion. The cornmeal crusted cod was thick and crumbly, a nice variation from fried or grilled fish. These tacos came with a side of cilantro lime mayo that added a spicy kick. To finish, we couldn’t resist ordering a slice of the decadent Chocolate Overload. This divine dessert featured layers of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse topped with dark chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings that was just sweet enough.

After your meal is over, be sure to savor those stunning views before you leave. Like the stellar dishes and views here, you won’t be forgetting them anytime soon. − A Sedona Foodie
