Following a nearly year-long closure, Indian Gardens re-opened in February under new ownership from the team behind Flagstaff’s Pizzicletta. We’re thrilled to have this beloved restaurant back. Located in a charming spot in Oak Creek Canyon, this haunt has been in business since 1947. Inside diners will find a handful of tables to their left, a counter in front and on the right, a small market stocked with local products. The patio out back is a private oasis where diners are surrounded by tall trees in a secluded, enchanting setting.
Indian Gardens has been one of our favorite places to grab breakfast for years. Look forward to mostly healthy options. The Avocado Toast tasted fresh and paired well with our oat milk mocha. The Canyon Wrap was hearty, texture-rich and filled with nutritious brown rice, pickled carrot, tofu, romesco, grilled cabbage and sunflower seeds. The menu is rounded out by salads, sandwiches and house provisions including dill pickles, house-made granola, dates and stone ground mustard. The extensive drinks menu includes beer, wine, kombucha, tea and specialty coffee. House-made pastries beckon from under a glass case. We ordered a savory Galette made with potatoes and feta cheese. The crispy crust gave way to warm potatoes, onions and crumbly feta. The chocolate chip cookie was moist and rich.
When we returned for pizza night, we had to order the Carne Dolce pie. Served on crispy crust and topped with house mozzarella, mascarpone, ‘Nduja sausage, sage and honey, this pizza was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Our other favorite was the flavor-packed Bianco Tribute − a nod to one of noted Arizona pizzaiolo Chris Bianco’s signature creations − topped with parmesan, mascarpone, pickled onion, crunchy pistachio and fresh rosemary. We capped off our meal with house-made soft serve. The swirl we ordered tasted fresh, rich and creamy. After a year of so much change, it’s nice to have a community staple back in business and better than ever. − A Sedona Foodie
