Igloo Dining at ShadowRock Tap + Table

Igloos at ShadowRock Tap + Table

When it comes to holiday dining in Sedona, it would be near impossible to top enjoying a meal in one of the igloos at ShadowRock Tap + Table at the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock. Head outside of the Village of Oak Creek’s resort’s main restaurant and dine inside a cozy, clear igloo. The igloos are decorated in colorful Christmas lights and are the very definition of festive. This dining trend came to Sedona via the Hilton a few years ago, and we’re glad the property has decided to keep these around. The last time we ate here, it was truly magical. We opted for the four-course prix fixe holiday menu. We kicked off our meal with a hearty and (mostly) savory Polar Paring Board, which came with an ample supply of cheeses, marinated olives, a fruit compote and warm toasted bread.

Next up, we enjoyed the Frostbite Tomato Bisque. We enjoyed dipping our spoons into a rich, creamy bisque that was dotted with crunchy Parmesan crostini. For our main course, we opted for the Penguin’s Plate. This entrée featured a tender piece of moist, seared salmon in a herbaceous lobster thyme reduction and was served alongside roasted fingerling potatoes. Besides the clever name, we loved how this was seasoned. It was all served warm, and many of the dishes reminded us of classic winter meals.

To wrap up our meal, we opted for both of the two desserts on the menu. We delighted in cracking into the Glacial Crème Brulee, which featured a sugar crust that seemingly glittered like snow in the light and was topped with fresh berries. Our companion selected the Frozen Forest Cheese Cake, a totally decadent slice of cheesecake that was woven with chocolate, caramel, crunchy pecans and drizzled with a decadent caramel sauce.

Above all, we enjoyed fine food, warm beverages and a truly comforting, one-of-a-kind holiday atmosphere. − A Sedona Foodie
