The Haunted Pizano

The Haunted Pizano

Jerome’s The Haunted Pizano is the latest offering from one of the Verde Valley’s most prominent restaurant groups, the Haunted Group. Occupying the space that housed the group’s Grapes Restaurant & Bar, The Haunted Pizano is cozy. The restaurant features just 12 tables with eight interior booths, a private dining space upstairs and three outdoor patio booths. Try to snag a table outside. The sweeping views of Jerome are breathtaking.

Food-wise, look forward to plenty of hearty Italian cuisine. Pizzas are stone-fired and truly outstanding. The menu includes both white and red pizzas. The Meatball & Burrata pizza is a fantastic option. The rich pie is topped with beef and pork meatballs, fresh creamy burrata, house made mozzarella and San Marzano tomato sauce. Each slice of this warmed us up on a brisk day. For a trendier pizza, guests can order the Hot Honey & Formaggio pie. Made with pepperoni, house-made mozzarella, fontina, provolone, ricotta and hot honey drizzle, this pizza is a delightful mix of savory and sweet flavors. We admire The Haunted Pizano’s true dedication to crafting dishes that are made from scratch. House-made pastas are another stellar choice. The rich Bucatini Cacio e Pepe features crispy prosciutto, cracked black pepper, Pecorino Romano and butter. The thick bucatini noodles were complemented by the simple and delicious cacio e pepe sauce.

For lighter fare, The Haunted Pizano serves fresh entrée salads. Diners can sink their forks into salads like Mista, a healthy mix of organic greens, roasted sunflower seeds, shaved Parmigiano Reggiano, tomatoes and onions that were all dressed with a zesty white basil vinaigrette. To finish up a meal here, consider one of the classic Italian desserts. These include tiramisu, limoncello cake and a seasonal cannoli duo filled with flavors like Nutella and pistachio. We left Pizano’s feeling full, utterly satisfied and ready to return. − A Sedona Foodie
