Art Walk

Art Walk

If you like art, 1st Fridays in Sedona are for you. The Sedona Gallery Association members present an evening filled with art talks, receptions, poetry readings and meet-and-greets with local and visiting artists. It all happens on the first Friday evening of each month from 5-8 p.m.

Mingle with like minds, look at beautifully displayed art and just enjoy the vibe. Begin at Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, which is centrally located. Head up to Hillside Sedona, walk down to Hozho Center and mosey up to AZ-179A near the “Y” – it’s all within walking distance. Jump in the car and take a quick ride to West Sedona where more galleries dot AZ-89A. Within a short amount of time, you will have experienced a multitude of artwork from all genres.

Sedona is rich in art and culture. Southwest style is prevalent, but modern and contemporary art can also be found. Galleries showcase glass, bronze sculpture, Native American art, paintings, mixed media and jewelry.

On the evening of Friday, May 3, enjoy watching sculptor Ken Rowe at Rowe Fine Art Gallery as he works on his latest project. Meet masters of glass Peter Wright and Peggy Pettigrew Stewart at an artist reception at Lanning, a Bryant Nagel Gallery. Or listen to a poetry reading by artist Nicholas Kirsten Honshin at The Gallery of Wholeness, Harmony and Radiance in the Plaza of the Bells in Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village. Stop by Goldenstein Gallery for the opening reception of the Impressionist – Expressionist show, and meet local and visiting artists.

Sip wine, have a few hors d’oeuvres and listen to music while perusing Sedona’s finest array of art. It’s a great way to spend an evening and kick off your weekend in Sedona. Take home a piece of Sedona art that will make your trip here a memorable one.

Art Walk, 1st Friday receptions run from 5-8 p.m., the first Friday of the month. For gallery locations and more information, visit sedonagalleryassociation.com.
