Take in a show… at Doris Harper-White Community Playhouse in Flagstaff
Doris Harper-White Community Playhouse is home to Theatrikos Theatre Company, which began in the basement of the Weatherford Hotel in 1972. The company presents six mainstage productions each year in addition to numerous workshops and children’s programs. Since 1989, the company has staged its productions at the Doris Harper-White Community Playhouse, named after one of Theatrikos’ founding members. The building was constructed in 1923 as an Elks Lodge and then served as the Flagstaff library before becoming a 120-seat theater.
This summer, it’s all about The Full Monty: The Musical, with performances July 24 though Aug. 9. The musical comedy is based on the British film of the same name. The story involves unemployed steelworkers who turn to stripping to make some cash. Will there be nudity at the Flagstaff show? No spoilers here!
