Outstanding in the Field Sets the Table at D.A.Ranch
Tickets are now on sale for the Oct. 21, 2026, vineyard dinner, pairing guest chef Lisa Dahl, host vintner Joseph Bechard, and one unforgettable long table in the Verde Valley.
CORNVILLE, Ariz. — The table is coming to the vines. Outstanding in the Field, the acclaimed traveling dining experience known for setting its iconic long table at farms, vineyards, beaches, ranches, and remarkable landscapes around the world, will make its first appearance at D.A.Ranch Vineyard in Cornville on Oct. 21, 2026. The one-night-only outdoor feast will bring together farmers, chefs, artisans, vintners, and guests for an evening celebrating the flavors and stories of the Verde Valley.
Set beneath House Mountain, surrounded by estate-grown vines, cottonwoods, ponds, a century-old red barn, and Arizona wine country, the dinner pairs one of the world’s most recognizable open-air dining experiences with one of the Southwest’s most distinctive vineyard settings.
The event will be hosted by the Petznick family of D.A.Ranch, with Joseph Bechard serving as host vintner. Guest chef Lisa Dahl of Cucina Rustica will lead the field kitchen, creating a multi-course meal inspired by the season, the land, and the agricultural abundance of the region. The event runs from 2–6:15 p.m., with tickets priced at $390 and available at shop.outstandinginthefield.
“Our family is honored and excited to host Outstanding in the Field at D.A.Ranch this October,” said Alexis Petznick, executive officer at D.A.Ranch. “So much of what we do is about slowing down, gathering around the table, and connecting people to the land behind the meal, and in our case, the wine. That is very much what we try to create here, too. Seeing that long table set among our vines will be really special.”
Founded by artist Jim Denevan in 1999, Outstanding in the Field is a roving restaurant without walls, designed to reconnect diners with the land and the people who grow, raise, harvest, make, and prepare their food. Each meal is created with a local chef who designs a menu inspired by the place and its seasonal ingredients, telling the story of a region through its food, farmers, and community around the table.
For D.A.Ranch, that landscape is part of the story before the first course is served. The family-owned estate vineyard sits in the Verde Valley AVA, where elevation, climate, and high-desert beauty helped shape one of the Southwest’s emerging wine regions. D.A.Ranch grows estate varietals including Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Bianca, Seyval Blanc, Tannat, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Teroldego, Grenache, Counoise, Greco Bianco, and Vermentino.

Outstanding in the Field at D.A.Ranch Vineyard will feature:
– An iconic long-table dinner among the vines: Outstanding in the Field will set its signature table at D.A.Ranch for the first time, inviting guests to dine outdoors in a landscape shaped by vineyards, cottonwoods, ponds, distant mesas, and the ranch’s century-old red barn.
– A host family and vintner rooted in the land: The Petznick family will welcome guests to the estate vineyard, while Joseph Bechard will serve as host vintner, bringing attention to the wines grown and made from the property’s estate fruit.
– A field kitchen led by one of Sedona’s defining chefs: Guest chef Lisa Dahl of Cucina Rustica will create a multi-course menu inspired by Arizona agriculture, seasonal ingredients, and the flavors of the Verde Valley.
– A true sense-of-place dining experience: From the welcome reception and tour to the final course under the open sky, the evening is designed to connect guests with the land, the wine, the food, and the people behind it all.

Dahl, a two-time James Beard House-featured guest chef, has helped shape Sedona’s dining scene for decades through restaurants that celebrate bold flavor, hospitality, and a deep connection to place. For this event, she and her team will create a menu that reflects the spirit of the season while honoring the producers, growers, and vintners who make the region distinct.
Since its early days, Outstanding in the Field has grown from an improbable idea into a global dining series, producing more than 1,600 table-to-farm events across all 50 U.S. states, four Canadian provinces, and 26 countries worldwide.
“At D.A.Ranch, fall has a way of making the whole property feel even more special,” said Petznick. “Guests will arrive with the vines, the mesas, and the red barn all around them, and as the sun starts to lower behind the mountains, that long table will become part of the landscape. It is exactly the kind of evening that shows what Arizona wine country can be.”
