Route 66 is celebrating its centennial all year. Founded on Nov. 11, 1926, the iconic, historic highway that ran through Flagstaff was a critical part of bringing Americans westward, and you can learn more about the route’s storied history at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s “Wagon Road to Mother Road” exhibition.
Visitors can check out artifacts, maps, music and other memorabilia that capture the spirit of the era at the Flagstaff museum. See a 1931 Ford Model A pickup, a hand-painted Route 66 map and a mid-century Philips 66 gas pump. This show runs from now through Oct. 26. Visit musnaz.org for more.
