Red Dirt Concert Series.
RED DIRT CONCERT SERIES
For an entire decade, the City of Sedona has hosted free outdoor concerts as part of its Red Dirt Concert Series. Every Friday in May and September, Sedona residents and visitors can flock to the Posse Grounds Pavilion to hear free live music. To celebrate this milestone, the Series will also have special shows this year. The spring one will be held on May 30. The fall series will be held on Sept. 5.
FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS
Every Friday in June, the City of Sedona will be hosting Family Fun Fridays. This new initiative features various events and activities intended for families. On June 5, enjoy a Dive-In Movie at the Pool from 7 to 10 p.m. On June 12, enjoy Family Fun Karaoke from 6 to 8 p.m. On June 19, the City will host Family Bingo Night from 6 to 8 p.m. On June 26, enjoy Family Trivia Night from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sedona Summer Splash.
SEDONA SUMMER SPLASH
Head to the Sedona Community Pool on July 4 for some summertime fun as part of the annual Sedona Summer Splash. From noon to 4 p.m., attendees can cool off in the pool, listen to music, and enjoy food and fun. Admission is free.

Slide Rock State Park.
SLIDE ROCK STATE PARK
Slide Rock State Park is one of Sedona’s most popular attractions due to its stunning scenery and natural rockslide where many slide down. Although it can get crowded, Slide Rock State Park is one of Sedona’s outdoor gems and a serene place to cool off during the summer months.

The Bell Trail.
THE BELL TRAIL
Located just outside of Sedona in Rimrock, the Bell Trail is a popular Sedona summertime hike. The 7-mile out-and-back trail eventually leads to the swimming hole The Crack at Wet Beaver Creek. The trail out to the water is relatively flat but is also mostly unshaded, which makes it difficult to complete during those hot summer months. Your reward for making the trek? Access to stunning red rocks and cool, refreshing water.
COTTONWOOD
SUMMER CINEMA SERIES
Head to the Cottonwood Aquatics Center from June through August on select Saturdays to watch movies while you cool off in the water. Gates open at 7:45 p.m. Admission is free. Visit cottonwoodaz.gov for more information.

Fantastic Family Fourth of July.
FANTASTIC FAMILY FOURTH OF JULY
Cottonwood will host its annual fireworks show on July 4 as part of its Fantastic Family Fourth of July celebration. This event is slated to include classic Fourth of July food like hot dogs and watermelon for free in addition to games, vendors and a pyrotechnic show to close out the patriotic holiday.
PRESCOTT

World’s Oldest Rodeo.
WORLD’S OLDEST RODEO
Every summer over the Fourth of July, Prescott hosts what it claims to be World’s Oldest Rodeo. This kicked off way back in 1888. This year, it will be held from June 29 to July 5. The rodeo will feature a variety of lively events including steer wrestling, a wild horse race, bareback riding, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc, bull riding and barrel racing.
FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
The City of Prescott is also hosting its own Fourth of July celebration at Pioneer Park. Attendees can enjoy a DJ, live music, a kid’s play zone, food trucks and beer garden. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. Music and activities start at 4 p.m. Gates open at 3 p.m. Admission and parking are free. People can bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Pets are not allowed.
FLAGSTAFF

The Arboretum at Flagstaff.
THE ARBORETUM AT FLAGSTAFF
Only opening seasonally, The Arboretum at Flagstaff serves up classic Flagstaff views. Take in vistas of the San Francisco Peaks while you’re surrounded by 750 plant species. The Arboretum offers up easy walking paths so you can soak up the scenery.
FLAGSTAFF RODEO
Watch cowboys and cowgirls rope and ride at Fort Tuthill County Park from June 4 to 6 at the Flagstaff Rodeo. Specifically, attendees can watch team roping, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, saddle bronc riding and barrel racing.

Movies On The Square.
MOVIES ON THE SQUARE
Head to Flagstaff’s Heritage Square every Saturday evening from May to July to watch a complimentary movie. The night kicks off at 7 p.m. with family-friendly activities and music. The movie will start rolling sometime around dusk.
ART IN THE PARK
Art in the Park returns from July 3 to 5 to downtown’s Wheeler Park. Guests can check out fine art and fine crafts from over 70 artists from all over the Southwest. Look forward to ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, hats and ornaments.

Spin on the Square.
SPIN ON THE SQUARE
On Sundays from May 24 to Aug. 30, hop on a spin bike located outside on Heritage Square as part of Spin on the Square. The class starts at 9 a.m. and lasts for about 45 minutes.
