Enjoying our days can be as simple as appreciating the small things. Opening your eyes in the morning and realizing you are still here. The early morning cup of coffee and a scone or muffin to go with it. This is your day and only you get to determine whether or not it is a good day for you. I cannot distill into a few photos the wide variety of choices that I can make or you can make each day to make it a great day. Here are a few things that have brightened my days. We get to choose most of what fills our days or we get to decide how we react to them.

Photo 1: This photo is of a life-size sculpture of a boy launching a glider into flight. The sculpture is in the farmyard of a friend who lives in Pennsylvania and was commissioned to memorialize the days him and his sons spent flying RC gliders together.

Photo 2: This is one of those mixed feelings photographs. I had been flying my RC glider at the bluffs in Costa Mesa, California, and I crashed it. That’s me on the ground trying to recover all the parts and my late wife Corky looking on and probably telling me all will be well. She was like that.

Photo 3: There are times when you absolutely are unable to restrain a huge grin and looking at this alpaca on a friend’s ranch was one of those moments. You just can’t resist! Photo 4 (Above): We’re not so different today. This is a restored and colorized photograph from the 1920s of a two boys on Mormon Lake up on the Colorado Plateau. We were just doing what comes naturally to all of us … having fun!

Photo 5: Unless a friend takes a photo of me I don’t get shots like this. A friend took this of me one day when I was landing back at the Sedona Airport after a long cross country flight. Fun to do and even more fun to make a good landing once home.
