It’s that time of year again as we near the end of the year and begin the season of winter. This is a time when life is shutting down, and creatures that hibernate are in shelter, and migratory creatures are gone. Left are those who thrive in winter and have found ways to make it a fun season to play in the snow. The photo at the top of this page shows winter on full display with snow blanketing the San Francisco Peaks. On the left side of the photo is Humphreys Peak, which at 12,637 feet, is the highest point in Arizona. Humphreys Peak is also home to the Snowbowl, where winter fun reigns supreme. On the right is Agassiz Peak, the second highest peak in Arizona.

Photo 2
Photo 2 leads us into the middle of spring and the time for renewal. Shown is a hummingbird in her nest and keeping the eggs warm and waiting for the arrival of the new hummingbirds, which will soon arrive and lead to the continuation of the species.

Photo 3
Photo 3 brings us into the warm days of summer. A Cottontail Rabbit is trying to draw coolness from the ground as he stretches out in the grass. It is early evening, and coolness is soon arriving.

Photo 4
Photo 4 brings us into fall as nature begins to shut it down and prepare for the winter looming near! Fall colors are reflected in a pond of water in Page Springs, Arizona. Thank you for a wonderful year and for inviting me into your homes. Another cycle of life is about to begin, and we’ll be covering it for you.
