Samantha is a big, beautiful German Shepherd who is desperately seeking a family. Her former guardian could no longer care for her and had to surrender her to the Humane Society of Sedona back in February. She is coming up on a year of being in the shelter, and that is just no way for any dog to live. Samantha is such a happy and loving dog and the way her face lights up when she gets to go to the park is just magical. This big gal loves chasing tennis balls and could do that for quite some time. She doesn’t just favor tennis balls, she loves her stuffed animals too! She will even take them on walks with her, and it’s the cutest thing ever! While she does like to stay active, Samantha has a bit of arthritis in her hips and isn’t a dog who will go on long hikes and walks. Just short walks and fetch time is all she needs!
Samantha has been able to escape the shelter and go home with a couple of our volunteers from time to time, and it’s reported she does really well in a home environment. She does not get along well with other animals and needs to be the only pet in the home. Sam would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home. She loves people and will be a very loyal and affectionate companion. Samantha is really having a hard time in the shelter and needs to break free and move on with her life! She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. If you would like to foster or adopt Samantha, call the Humane Society of Sedona, 928-282-4679, between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to make an appointment to meet her!
