Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, one of Sedona’s literally colorful events, returns from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this time, Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village’s streets, patios and fountains will be all decked out with colorful altars and large-scale installations. On Oct. 28, attendees also can enjoy live music and entertainment. The Day of the Dead is known as Old Souls Day in Mexico and is a holiday that celebrates lost loved ones. Dive deeper into Mexican culture by learning about “oferendas” or offerings placed at the altars. The Mural Marigold Project coincides with Dia de los Muertos. Attendees are invited to paint tributes on a 26-foot long mural to their lost loved ones. Paint and brushes will be supplied. Admission is free. Visit tlaq.com for more information.
