South of the “Y”

Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village

Fashioned after a Mexican village, Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village is filled with more than 50 colorful boutiques. We’ve spent many hours strolling through this centrally located shopping center wandering in and out of the many stores here and enjoying the window shopping. The setting is charming. Think lush well-manicured landscaping and fountains throughout the property, cream-colored buildings, ivy-covered walls and windows showcasing the beautiful wares inside. Take a closer look inside a handful of Tlaquepaque’s shops.

Bella Fine Goods

Bella Fine Goods

Bella Fine Goods’ name is an apt description of what you’ll find inside. We could literally spend all day just browsing the selection here. Find hand-tooled bags, custom-made benches, luxe candles, high-end furniture, earrings from Ink + Alloy, alpaca throws in a variety of colors and an heirloom cutting board from Larch Wood. One of Tlaquepaque’s newest residents is BowWow Sedona, a dog boutique that opened in October. BowWow carries pet apparel, pet care products and accessories. Specific brands you may find include Hurtta outdoor gear, Chilly Dog, Diva Dog, Hip Doggie, Natural Dog and Fox + Hound. If all that shopping has made you tired, you can perk up with a warm beverage from The Chai Spot. Try the traditional Chai or consider ordering one of the more adventurous flavors like Coconut Rose or Butter Chai.

Esteban’s

Esteban’s

Esteban’s opened its doors in 1974, making it one of the very first shops in Tlaquepaque. Esteban’s stocks decorative and functional pottery from over 50 different artists that are predominately local. Find handmade ceramic bowls, vases and cups in an array of colorful designs here. Wind bells and wall art complete the inventory. Signs saying “Made in Arizona” sit throughout the shop if you’re looking for that truly local present. It’s always Christmas-time over at Feliz Navidad. Plenty of the ornaments here have a Southwest spin. Think bulbs painted with scenes of Sedona’s red rocks, snowy cactus ornaments and even a Cathedral Rock Polish Glass ornament. This shop has one other location in Uptown Sedona.

Vino Zona

Vino Zona

Kuivato Glass Art Gallery’s name says it all. Expect to find a variety of handmade glass creations here. Even if you don’t step foot inside, watching Lyman Whitaker’s signature wind sculptures spin as the wind blows outside of the Vue Gallery, located across from the Renee Taylor Gallery, is always a treat. Inside the gallery, you’ll find bronze, steel, copper and canvas artwork in a variety of sizes. You’ll also find jewelry in silver, gold and steel under a glass case near the front of the shop. If you’re searching for a bottle of Arizona wine to gift a friend or loved one, consider paying a visit to Vino Zona. This shop specializes in small-batch, grape-to-glass wines. The tasting menu rotates regularly, and there’s bound to be a bottle that will soon become your favorite. Find limited-edition wines like the 2018 Malvasia Bianca from the Southwest Wine Center in nearby Clarkdale.

Hillside Sedona Shopping Center

Find galleries, restaurants and shops at the centrally located Hillside Sedona Shopping Center. Our favorite thing to do here is to sit outside at one of the public tables overlooking the red rocks. Many of this shop’s lines including Pas de Rouge, Paul Green, BeautiFeel, Arche and A.S.98 are hard to find—making this the place to stock up on unique shoes. We personally cannot get enough of the vast selections of stylish boots here. The entire staff even bought an ivy-colored green zip-up distressed suede made-in Spain Magritte by Eric Michael with a beaded strap over the laces.
