Steakhouse 89 sits at a landmark location in West Sedona. We encourage you not to miss it (as if you could) for a fine dining experience. Steakhouse 89 is a contemporary restaurant that offers diners their choice of experiences. Cozy up to the bar if you’re after drinks and small plates. Pick one of their spacious indoor dining rooms (one comes complete with a fireplace, perfect for chilly fall nights) for a quieter experience. Head outdoors to dine alfresco.

As you might have guessed from the restaurant’s name, meat is the name of the game here. A sign behind the hostess stand even features the cheeky hashtag We Meat Again. And this is a place where you’d return to get your meat fix. All of Steakhouse 89’s beef is USDA Prime. During our dinner, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet and prime rib and tender meatballs. Although we enjoyed our filet without any extras, diners can order sides ranging from smoked moody blue cheese gratin to garlic aioli.

But don’t think you can only order traditional steakhouse fare here. We thoroughly enjoyed vegetable and seafood dishes with modern twists. We savored the roasted Brussels sprouts with Brie cheese, pepitas and cranberries. Our party also loved the crispy-skin salmon seasoned with a citrus glaze and accompanied by succotash and sweet corn puree. The sautéed flavorful spinach served with cheddar and crispy onions was also a stand-out, and be sure to try the soft, Mark’er house rolls served with roasted garlic butter.

One of the most surprising plates of our meal? A concentrated flavor-packed, palettecleansing cherry sorbet that we’re still thinking about months later.

Our meal concluded with one of the restaurant’s signature desserts, 89 Cheesecake. The day we dined here it was a lemon-flavored slice that was everything you could want: decadent, rich and an entree you’d order again. − A Sedona Foodie
