Before you head to that Thanksgiving feast, burn some calories at the 9th First Annual Sedona Turkey Trot 5K at Posse Grounds Park on Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. The race, presented by Sedona Running Company, includes the Iron Turkey Challenge where racers compete carrying their Thanksgiving turkeys. Registration for the out-and-back race is $40 in advance or $45 the morning of the event, though for the past seven years, the race has been sold out by race day. An awards ceremony immediately follows the trot, so the entire event wraps up by 10:45 a.m., well before it’s time to slice the pumpkin pie.
