After hitting a rough patch last year, which led to the postponement of the inaugural event, the Sedona Book and Arts Festival is slated for Sept. 9-11 at Yavapai College Sedona Center. The opening reception takes place Sept. 9, from 1 to 5 p.m., with author Tom Bird delivering the keynote address at 3 p.m. There will be a concert at the Sedona Performing Arts Center on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. The festival will feature more than 30 workshops for authors, actors and artists of all ages; a poetry slam; 10-minute plays and a children’s book reading. Authors and artists will also be selling their work throughout the event. The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 10 and 11. Tickets are $15 and include festival entry and one workshop. Additional workshops will be $10 each. For more information, visit www.sedonabookandartsfestival.com. – Erika Ayn Finch
